What user id does the batch job run under? And you didn't say anything about the directory tree -- if your batch user id doesn't have access to the entire directory tree, the error could occur due to it.
At this point, I recommend working with your site support group. You are not posting anywhere near enough data for us to help you on the forum, and the site support group will be able to see everything and help you resolve issues.
